Chargeable-weight rules vary by carrier and trade lane. Sea LCL is normally charged on whichever is greater of 1 m³ or 1,000 kg (W/M). Air freight uses a 1:6000 volumetric divisor. Road groupage commonly uses ~333 kg per m³ but this differs between operators.
